From the editor: Normally the Site of the Week is sent on Wednesdays, but yesterday was a bit of a challenge for me. I was involved in an auto accident in the morning and although everyone was fine, it threw off the rest of the day's schedule. Since our monthly newsletter goes out on the first, I focused on sending that out and hoped that you would forgive the delay in getting this issue of Site of the Week sent. Have a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend!

Thank goodness my education was neglected. --Beatrix Potter

After reading through the first 2 lessons, I feel like I have such a better grasp of what I'm doing and how to do it...and there are many more lessons to come. Lesson 2, which I just read, brought me so much peace of mind because now I know several ways to apply a high school credit. I had so much anxiety about how to do this before I read your lesson. I'm so excited that I found your site and enrolled in the class. This is a true answer to a very deep prayer of mine. God certainly guided in the perfect direction! ~Babs

Point of View is a monthly literary newsletter for teens. Kim Culbertson, author of Songs for a Teenage Nomad, features a favorite young adult novel each issue along with some of the reasons that the novel speaks to her. She shares a writing exercise that the teen can do (with or without reading the novel) along with a project idea for the novel, something teachers can use for an outside reading assignment with the book or adapt however they choose.
I have not read the books that Kim features, so please plan to preview them before deciding if this resource is right for your family.
